Gear Purchasing

The Goal - Reducing your runaround time before setting off on an adventure.  

Whether you've got a newly built vehicle with nothing in it or just want to add a couple of items after a recent trip, we are available to take the hassle off your hands.  

Process for an empty vehicle: We'll send a checklist of the gear for you to evaluate before a scheduled consultation(*see the notes below). During the consultation we'll determine what you need, make suggestions and answer any questions regarding the gear you might have.

Process if you already have most of the gear: You can send us a list of your existing gear that for us to comment on and make suggestions. If your vehicle is in Cape Town and arrangements can be made, we could also go to your vehicle and go through the items in it(*see the notes below). After gaining an understanding of the gear in your vehicle, we'll then have a scheduled consultation to discuss exactly what you need from our side. 

Purchasing of the gear will happen in the following ways:

  • ·      We'll pick you up at your accommodation with our vehicle and spend the day going to the pre-determined stores to view and purchase the items in question.

    ·      This option allows you to feel, measure and test the gear before making a final decision. Ideally this gets done after you've seen your vehicle to get a feeling for the storage space you have.

    ·      We'll drive you around all day, so you get to enjoy the shopping without having to deal with traffic from the driver-seat. 

    Rate per day:              ZAR 3,500

    An additional cost of ZAR 5.00 per kilometer driven is charged for the day.

  • ·      We go shopping for the items as discussed during the consultation/s on our own. It will all then be ready at your vehicle before you arrive.

    ·      This option is sometimes used along with OPTION I when certain items need to be ordered or collected before-hand to allow for production and/or delivery.

    Rate per hour:            ZAR 500

    This rate includes the cost of fuel used during these purchases.

    This hourly rate includes travel time to and from the various shops.

    *Our Discovery calls are free of charge. We have a cost of ZAR 500 per consultation thereafter.

    ·      These consultation costs include any number of messages sent to us about which items or where to purchase items while you're in South Africa buying the items yourself.

General Pre-and Post Trip services

Anything that has to be done in or around the vehicle is where this service comes in. These services include the following:

  • Having clothing washed.

  • Having the vehicle washed, polished and/or detailed.

  • Fixing anything minor that you discovered on a trip.

  • Unpacking the vehicle.

  • Taking inventory of all the gear and its condition.

  • Making a list of items that need to be topped up or replaced such as repair gear or cooking items.

  • Taking the vehicle to have spare-keys cut and tested.

  • Taking the vehicle to have the Wheel-Alignment done.

  • Filling the vehicle up with Fuel for storage or before you arrive.  

There is nothing specific to the services under this offering. Anything that you want to have done but don't have the time for is included here, subject to discussing and agreeing on it.

Hour Rate:     ZAR 500,00

*Any costs incurred regarding these services will be billed to the client.*
